Billing and Payment

Who We Work With

Most insurance companies would cover you for physiotherapy, massage therapy and orthotics under your extended health benefits plan. We bill directly to most of these companies with many of them covering either wholly or a per centage of your costs. You do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist, but some insurance companies require it to cover your fees.

The followings are some of the insurance companies that we have direct billing privileges with:
Alberta Blue Cross
Sunlife Financial
Manulife Financial
SSQ Financial
Canadalife
Great West Life Assurance company

Medavie Blue Cross: RCMP and Veterans Affairs Canada

Motor Vehicle Accidents

If you were injured in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) within the last 10 days, your treatments are covered by your motor vehicle insurance policy. We have direct billing privilege with all motor vehicle insurance companies. As a claimant, you do not have to pay out of pocket for your physiotherapy services. Treatments under this condition is called “within protocol” and covers you up to 90 days, or for a total of 21 treatments following your accident.

If you are seeking treatment after 90 days have lapsed since your accident, or if you need more treatment after exhausting your ‘within protocol’ treatments, these claims will go through what is referred to as Section B coverage. In this case, we need a prior approval from your motor vehicle insurance company to proceed.

On your first visit, you will need:
Policy number or claim number if you already have one
Adjuster’s name and contact number
Date of injury
